Star Clippers to sail Indonesian waters for the first time
Tall ship sailing specialist Star Clippers will be sailing in Indonesian waters for the first time in 2017, offering a choice of 19 departures, east and westbound from Bali, between May 6th and October 14th 2017, including sailings of 7, 10, 11 and 14 nights, and two cruises between Bali and Singapore. The four-masted Star Clipper, will sail between lush, culturally unique and exotic port calls and drop anchor close to coconut-white coves that typify Indonesia’s thousands of islands, mirroring a Robinson Crusoe adventure, as the ship calls into tiny jungle-and-sand islands, haloed by crystal clear turquoise sea and white sand beaches. A 9 night land-cruise holiday, departing on 28th June 2017, with 2 nights pre-cruise in Bali, a half day city tour, return flights from London and a round trip sailing from Bali that calls into Bali, Gili Kondo, Komodo National Park, Pink Beach, Satonda Island, Gili Meno & Gili Trawangan and Gili Nanggu costs from £2049pp. To book, call 0808 231 4798 or visit www.starclippers.co.uk
New ship, Flying Clipper to be the world’s largest
When she debuts in late 2017 SPV Flying Clipper will be the world’s largest square rigger and the largest ship of its kind afloat today. She will also be the biggest and the most ambitious of the Clipper fleet to date, carrying 300 passengers, and powered by 35 sails. Flying Clipper, will have three pools, one that funnels sunlight through the ship’s atrium into the elegantly appointed dining room. There will be a water sports platform in the stern for use when the ship is at anchor and a variety of cabin grades, including 34 suites with balconies and four luxurious owner’s suites. A restaurant in the light-filled atrium will accommodate all passengers for open-seating dining. The favourite hallmarks of all Star Clippers ships will be incorporated into her design, such as the cosy library, the bowsprit net and the popular, al fresco Tropical Bar, where evening entertainment takes place. While the ship will have ecologically sound, high-tech engines, it will, like its sisters, rely on wind power and its sails wherever possible. Star Clippers offers new on board overnights in Cuba
Good quality hotel accommodation in Cuba’s cities is hard to find and with the surge in inbound tourism, it is becoming harder still. Add to this, the appeal of sleeping on board a magnificent tall ship in the harbour alongside Havana and Cienfuegos at the start and end of a sailing around Cuban waters, without having to pack or unpack again, makes Star Clippers’ new on board in port cruise-add on highly appealing. From early 2017 Star Flyer will sail between Havana and Cienguegos, calling into the Cayman islands and some of the most idyllic Lagos in the Caribbean. 7, 10 and 11 night holidays are available, with at least on night in port on all sailings, and two nights alongside on the longer sailings. To book, call 0808 231 4798 or visit www.starclippers.co.uk.

Notes to editors:
Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest and tallest fully-crewed sailing vessels, with a new ship being built for delivery in 2017. The ships can drop anchor in smaller harbours and visit ports often untouched by larger cruise ships and providing guests with the amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht.
High standards of service are provided by an attentive crew and all three ships have expansive teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, a convivial Tropical Bar on deck and a comfortable piano bar and are large enough to offer first class accommodation and dining.
The two smaller ships, Star Flyer and Star Clipper, take 170 guests each, with a crew of 70, while Royal Clipper carries 227 with a crew of 106.
